Natural sulphur products. Native sulphur sourced by the PBI Group is of the highest quality, with a purity level of 99.98%. This high purity makes it suitable for various industries, including fertiliser production, plant protection products, sulphuric acid, tires, synthetic fibres, cosmetics, and the food and pharmaceutical industries. The Basznia II Sulphur Mine, owned by the PBI Group and located in the village of Basznia Dolna in the Podkarpackie region, is one of only two active mines in the world where natural sulphur is extracted. The extraction process is conducted using the Frasch process. It involves pumping water heated to 165°C into the deposit to melt the sulphur, which is then lifted to the surface by means of compressed air. The final stage is granulation, which converts the raw material into its physical form. The extraction technology used by the PBI Group is classified as safe and environmentally friendly.
